vitiligo is a skin disease i’ve had since i was nine. it makes white patches of skin appear in different parts of the body, sometimes symmetrically. no one knows the cause of it, but research suggests that it may be an auto-immune, genetic or environmental disease. there are ways to treat it but there is no cure. it is NOT contagious.
it affects less than 1% of the world’s population and because of that, many people don’t even know what it is. by not knowing anything about it, some people tend to consider it disgusting and dangerous. and that’s why i’m here.
i thought that maybe, if i could at least make some of my followers read a bit about it, they wouldn’t think those things. ‘cause even though it isn’t a serious disease, it’s hard to see people looking at you with a “ew” face.
